On 16 September 2025<\/strong>, the TROPHY project<\/strong>, co-organized by Politecnico di Milano (Polimi)<\/strong> and CNR-IFN<\/strong>, hosted a highly successful workshop on Spectral Histopathology and AI in Precision Oncology<\/em> at Politecnico di Milano<\/strong>. Over 60 participants<\/strong> attended, both in-person and online, including many students.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The workshop provided a unique opportunity to bring together three distinguished speakers with complementary backgrounds: Prof. Orlando Guntinas-Lichius<\/strong>, Prof. Nick Stone<\/strong>, and Prof. Pietro Li\u00f2<\/strong>. Despite their different areas of expertise \u2014 from clinical oncology and surgery to spectroscopy and artificial intelligence \u2014 the speakers managed to present talks that were accessible and engaging for a broad audience, including non-experts in their specific fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This interdisciplinary approach is often difficult to replicate at traditional scientific conferences, which typically focus on narrower themes such as medicine, spectroscopy, or AI in isolation. The workshop successfully bridged these fields, starting from clinical and technological needs, moving towards cutting-edge solutions in spectroscopy, and exploring the basic concepts of AI with numerous clinical and non-clinical applications.<\/p>\n<\/div>

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the speakers for their contributions and for making the event so impactful. Their talks truly fostered a meaningful dialogue between disciplines, and the feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The project meeting held the same day was also a success. As the project enters its final year, we are excited to see many positive interactions, emerging results, and new perspectives. The momentum generated during this phase is paving the way for continued progress, and we are eager to see how these developments will shape the future of the TROPHY project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
