Lecco, Italy – 14th November 2023
In a significant step forward for the TROPHY project, LyncéeTec, a key partner responsible for the design and engineering of the innovative “ulTRafast hOlograPHic FT-IR microscopY” system, recently visited the laboratories at the Politecnico di Milano and the Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnology of the CNR (IFN-CNR) in Lecco, Italy.
LyncéeTec, worldwide leader in Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM®), took this opportunity to install the first prototype of the system. The prototype is designed to integrate Digital Holography Microscopy with ultrafast laser sources and with an innovative all-optical lock-in camera system developed in collaboration between Italian institutions (Politecnico di Milano and IFN-CNR) and Spain (ICFO). The ultrafast regime will be used for the first time to excite and probe photo-thermal signals in combination with a lock-in camera for multi-parallel low-noise detection.

The TROPHY project aims to introduce a paradigm shift in vibrational microscopy with an ulTRafast hOlograPHic FT-IR microscopY approach. The underlying technology combines elements of photo-thermal infrared (PT-IR), Fourier transform (FT-IR), and Digital Holography Microscopy (DHM), bringing these techniques to an unprecedented ultrafast timescale.
The collaboration between TROPHY project partners and LyncéeTec signifies a crucial milestone towards the realization of this cutting-edge microscopy system. The installation of the prototype at the Politecnico di Milano and IFN-CNR laboratories marks a significant advancement in the project’s mission to push the boundaries of vibrational microscopy.
