We are pleased to announce that Victor Alcolea-Rodriguez, a young researcher involved in the TROPHY project and currently part of the CNR-IFN team, has been awarded a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowship.
This is a significant achievement for both Victor and the TROPHY consortium, as it highlights the excellence and scientific potential of the young talents working within our network. The fellowship will allow Victor to continue his research within the same collaborative environment, jointly hosted by CNR-IFN and Politecnico di Milano, under the scientific supervision of Renzo Vanna (CNR-IFN) and Dario Polli (Politecnico di Milano).

Although his new project, RAMPART (Label-Free Raman Approaches for Patient-Specific Biochemical Tumour Mapping to Monitor Personalized Anticancer Resistance Simulation), is independent from TROPHY, it remains scientifically aligned with the overarching goals of our project. RAMPART will focus on a related clinical need: improving the understanding of immunotherapy response in head and neck cancer.
Specifically, the project aims to tackle the critical challenge of tumour resistance to radiotherapy and immunotherapy in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). By leveraging label-free Raman-based techniques, RAMPART will identify spectral biomarkers of resistance through biomolecular tumour imaging, and ultimately establish a fast and effective method to predict therapy response.
We congratulate Victor on this remarkable milestone and look forward to the continued impact of his work within the TROPHY research ecosystem.
