TROPHY research was presented at the 97th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, held in Ulm from 13 to 16 May 2026.
During the congress, Dr Nadja Ziller, from Jena University Hospital, presented recent preclinical results obtained within the TROPHY project. The work focused on the use of label-free Raman microscopy in tumor biopsy slice cultures, highlighting the potential of advanced vibrational imaging approaches as versatile models for head and neck cancer research.
The presented work was awarded the 3rd Prize in the Experimental category of the DGHNO-KHC Visual Abstract Awards. This recognition represents an important acknowledgement of the scientific quality of the research carried out within the TROPHY consortium and of its relevance for translational head and neck cancer research.
“This recognition is a great encouragement and reflects the dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit of everyone involved in the project,” said Dr Nadja Ziller.

The award also underlines the contribution of TROPHY to the development of innovative, label-free technologies for the molecular analysis of tumor biopsies. By combining expertise in vibrational microscopy, ultrafast photonics, artificial intelligence, spectral histopathology, and immune-oncology, TROPHY aims to support faster, more precise, and more informative approaches for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The TROPHY consortium warmly congratulates Dr Nadja Ziller and all colleagues involved in this achievement.
